uninstalling Outlook

I need to uninstall MS Outlook 2002. I will go back to
using Outlook Express 6.0, which is still installed on my
computer. My question is about the other components that
were bundled with Outlook, inasmuch as I bought Office
XP. These are Word, Power Point and Excel. The older
versions are still installed and I have found they still
work as before. If I uninstall Outlook XP, will my older
programs still work as before, and will all my data remain
unharmed?

David, I installed the student/teacher version of MS
Outlook XP. I don't have the box here, anymore, so I
can't look to be sure, but perhaps it's not a full
version. Anyway, the "older" version of Word that is
still on the machine is 2000 SR-1, and the older
PowerPoint is version 2000. I find that I can use my
older programs just fine, and would like to remove the
newer Outlook altogether, unless it is likely to cause me
some unforeseen problem.

No matter which app you installed; Outlook XP ( stand alone) or Office XP
( the pkge)
you can deinstall Outlook XP and it wont impact on the other Office apps (
Word etc)
I was a little confused by yr ref to bundled Apps.
The 'Office' pkg contains, amongst others, Outlook, Word, Excell etc however
you can obtain these apps singly, I guess however, you have Outlook XP on
its own; ref to the origonal installation disk will confirm this.
Incidently you might care to visit the MS Office update site,
http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx
there have been a number of updates to yr apps (Word is now at SR-3)
