After trying to uninstall and reinstall Office, I get various erro
messages. When installing, the error box says :This patch package coul
not be open. Verify the patch package exists and theat you can acces
it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a vali
Windows Installer patch package.
Now, this is a legitimate copy of Microsoft Office that I've had t
reinstall before, most notably after I had to replace the hardive on m
computer, and came across nothing like this. this time I created a fres
partition this timie and installed Office on it and it worked fine.
Suddenly I started getting error messages every time I opened a window
with one of my cd disc drives running, searching for an Office disc t
install the program.
I've tried a complete uninstall but it won't get rid of all th
components.
Short of any advice I'm tempted to asave my data files, wipe th
partition and start over fresh. I'm sure it'll work fine then, but I'
like to avoid the hassle.
I'm running a compaq presario desktop with 120g hardrive, Windows x
home edition and Office student and teachers edition
I'm somewhat computer literate enough I can follow 'recipe
instructions, but I also know that I'm certaily no expert.
Thanks for your help!
