Is it possible to uninstall Windows Installer 2.0 or do I really have to
re-install Widows ME?

You could try reverting to an install point prior to adding WI2 .

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, plus any
service pack updates.

Do not mail to me directly without invitation - you have a choice of
getting ignored or billed for my time. Most questions can be answered
by reading recent NG posts, checking the MVPS web FAQs or searching the
relevant Google archive e.g.

Yeah, I already tried that. Guess what? For some unexplained reason the
Restore failed.

I think that's a Windows ME "feature". The only time I've every used it is
when I've been helping friends out, and it's never worked. There is a patch
supposedly but it didn't seem to work. I suggest you post your query on a
Windows ME NG since it's not really Office specific.

Well, it's kinda Office specific because since I installed Win Intsaller v2
I'm unable to update my Office 2k installation.

I get a message that says: "This patch package
could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can
access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid
Windows Installer package".

OK Its solved. There is a Windows Installer Cleanup Utility that, although
not supported for systems having Windows Installer v2, actually worked.
Thanks
