Unique fields for tasks

Hi all,

How can we add a new task to an existing task? Maybe it is weird, but sorry
cause I am new to project. Let me give an example of what we need to do. On
an IT project there are tasks about developing softwares. Let's say there
are three tasks like Server 2003 deployment, client installation and Office
deployment. For each task we have to add a different field to state the
action on its dependent task. So I add a field and name it as "test". Test
has two choices: 1- deploy 2-not. On Gantt Chart view, this field is shown
for all tasks. I want to make it is just for one task. Again sorry if it
sounds weird.

At least can someone track me with all these task thing in Project. I gather
nor enough information from help menu on project. Any other sources for
developing project usage skills will be appreciated as well.

Regards,
Nick.

Each task has the same fields as all other tasks.
Each task must be on it's own row.
If you want to add a task, you add a new row.
So, the answer is you can not do that the way you are expecting.

Hi Jack,

I do understand. I just wanted to learn about tasks on project. Can you
please help me on reaching sources other than help files on Internet to
understand project handling tasks and resources?

thanks,
Nick.
