Unique Values blanking out a text field

In my query when I choose Unique Values some of the records come back with a
text field blanked out when there is actually a value in it. If I turn off
unique values the field shows the value fine, but I get duplicates.

Not all records with this field are blanked out, just a few here and
there...any ideas?

Tell us a bit more about this field that gets blanked out.

Does it display as a combo box in your query?

What version of Access? And what service pack? (See About on the Help menu.)
If it is a combo in Access 2003 SP3, you may need this hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945674

If that is not the case, switch the query to SQL view, copy the query
statement, and paste it here. Tell us which field goes blank, and what type
of field it is when you open your table in design view.
