I recently installed Office 2003 over my Office 2000
install. OL2003 was running OK. I shut down my work
computer for the weekend. When restarting this past
Monday, I could not access my Inbox. I was able to access
all other folders (standard and those I created) BUT NOT
THE INBOX.
A call to our company IT rep stated Msoft Exch Svr 5.5 has
known with XP Pro and/or OL 2003. So, I uninstalled Office
2003 and reinstalled Office 2000.
OL2000 won't start. It logs me into the network, creates
an extend.dat file, and hangs. I have gone through all
Msoft approved variants of fixes, including deleting the
fmdcache.dat, extend.dat and outcmd.dat files. I repaired
the outlook.pst file, which did have errors. To no avail.
I believe there is a conflict in the registry. I became
aware of an Office uninstall "scrubber" routine, from
theMsoft website, which does claim to scrub the registry
of old Office install records. This is my next stab.
Any ideas??? I'm running XP Pro on a fast Dell machine.
