Unistall/Re-install problems

I uninstalled Office XP and set restored my system to an
earlier date. When I went to re-install Office XP, Was
given the following message:

This patch package could not be opened. Veryify that
this patch package exists and you can access it, or
contact the application vendor that this is a valid
Windows Installer package.

Not sure what to do here. It is my program but I had to
unistall due to Word not performing even after a repair
option.

Any help would be appreciated.
