Units - Resource Sheet, Build Team, and Task Information

This is a basic, but here goes...

When defining a resources availability in terms of units (100%, 50%,
25%), I assume that when you are providing this information at the
resource level (Resource Sheet), you are saying that this resource is
only available for project work, say 50% of the time regardless of the
project in question.

I also assume that when you are specifying Units when building the
team from the enterprise, you are indicating that this resource is
available 50% of the time for all tasks on this particular project.

I also assume that when you are specifiying Units at the Task/
Assignment Level, you are indicating that this resource is available
50% of the time for this task only.

Is this all correct? If not, please comment.

Andy:

We're talking about a field called "Max Units" and it represents a default
value for a resource when you set it for the resource while you are editing
the resource in the Enterprise Resource pool. It represents a default value
only and in no way controls the units on assignments other than providing
the default value when appropriate. Depending on how you setup your tasks
and how you apply your resources, the system may calculate units for you,
which might wildly. The default value does not constrain the assignment
value itself.
