Unknown Error - Accept Tasks

Hi,

Our setup is Windows 2003 + Project Server 2003.
We are using Project Professional 2003.

For 1 project we are facing following problems.

When Project Manager Accepts all task updates and clicks on Update.

He receives following error :

Some approved task changes cannot be updated in Project files. Click
view details for more information. If you rejected a task, the resource
has been notified by e-mail. Please save your Project files with new
updates. The updated tasks will remain in the table until you save the
project files.

The following projects were not updated correctly for the following
reasons:

1. ProjectFileName : Unknown Error

Can any one help me out please?

I can think of a few things that *might* cause this:
Project is checked out, or "stranded" and needs to be checked in.
Project schedule is corrupted, perhaps by copying and pasting tasks.
Assignments have been changed or tasks deleted, but assignments were not
republished, or Updates were not processed before such changes were made.

No doubt there are other possible causes... these are just some ideas of
things that can cause trouble in the Update process.

All very good points by Reid. Also, make sure that you are completely
closed out of Project Professional before you hit the Update button in
your Updates tab in PWA. This will make sure the new data is loaded in
the cleanest way possible.
