Open the Access database file. Use the database window, click on the Tables
tab.
Highlight the linked excel file in question and hit <Delete>. You'll be
prompted for whether you wish to delete the link.

I think my question is similar: I'm using Access 2008 and used Excel to
import data, but I did it a weird way, and ended up with a linked table
instead of what I wanted. I don't need to keep the spreadsheet, and want to
continue to update the data in Access. What now?
I tried using a similar method to the above, but was told I couldn't delete
a database object while it was open.
