unlock cells become lock cells after pasteing

My worksheet is protected and I have several cells that
are unlocked. I copy some cell value from YAHOO financial
web page to paste into my cells. After the paste my cells
are locked and cannot be changed without having to
unprotect and unlocking and reprotecting. Is this a excel
bug? Is there a way so it doesn't lock my cells on pasting?

Could you use
Paste Special > Values
rather than
Paste
as the latter pastes formats as well as contents?
