Unlocking a Word document for editing

I find that numerous of my documentssaved in WORD form
cannot be unlocked for (re-)editing. Some are very long
documents, some quiteshort (3-4 pp). How can I unlock
them for editing?

Hi Neville,

There are several 'flavors' of a locked document. :)

Do you encounter any type of message? If so what is it?

Were the document protected using Tools/Protect Document?

Do you see "Document locked for edit" in the status bar?
