Unmatched pages not publishing

T

I've looked through some of the similar threads here but can't find anything
exactly the same. Here's what's happening:

I have 8-10 images in my Images folder that won't publish to the remote
site. All the other pages publish fine. All of the images are showing as
Unmatched. I did a full publish (not updated pages) and then ran the updated
pages publish. When that didn't seem to resolve the problem, I published
them individually (select, right-click, publish). Everythings seems to work
fine, the Images folder on the remote site shows the images as being there,
the big Arrow on the files goes away. However, when I go to the site the
images are not there. If I refresh the remote file (in FP publish) the files
that appeared to be published are not there and the blue arrows come back,
the status is changed from not updated to unmatched.

I cleared the browser's cache (as per some earlier posts), tried to publish
again, things looked like they worked, but actually aren't on the remote site.

Open the live site and recalculate hyperlinks
Then open the local site and recalculate hyperlinks.
Then publish changed pages only and see what happens.

I see how to recalculate in FP. I assume it is recalculating the local. How
do I recalc the live site?

Let me explain. What I consider my live site is the one that is published
on the net. My local site is the one I'm working on (on my laptop). When I
open a site in FP I open the local site. When I recalc I'm assuming it's
recalcing there.

How do I get the live site to recalc? Do I just connect (log on) and then
run the recalc again?

Thanks

Tom

The live site is the one on the server.
If the server has FrontPage extensions ( if you publish using http:// it does )
You open the live site by opening FrontPage and clicking File > Open site and entering
http://yourwebsite.com

Enter your user name and password when prompted and when the site opens recalculate the
hyperlinks.

I have tried the recommended fixes and still not working. Does anybody know
how to cause the status to change to "unchanged" after a successful publish.
The problem is only for certain files, not all.

Sorry Steve, this didn't fix things. I still have a handful of files
(images, pages) that show unmatched (with a similar unmatched on the remote
site). When I publish changed pages it looks like FP is trying to make the
changes, but the changes don't take and, if I try to publish again, the
unmatched status returns for each of the files.

Select the files in the Remote site view that has them and drag them across to the other side

Ron,

What web host do you use? Is it Comcast? I haven't ruled out issues at
that end and haven't yet tried to publish to another host (I also have
hosting at Go Daddy but until I get this figured out I don't want to mess up
the web site there.)

Thanks Stefan

Although it looks like this works (the status changes on both the local and
remote displays to "unchanged") when I exit FP and then start again, the
status is back to "unmatched" for the files in both locations.
