Unread Inbox Messages

Jeffrey G. Gomberg

I have an IMAP inbox indicating the presence of 121 unread messages, yet the
Inbox is empty.

I went to View and selected 'Unread Only' without success. The upper message
pane claims: "There are no unread messages in this folder".

I've tried "Refresh Message List" and "Download All Message Bodies" without
success.

I have examined the mail server and find the referenced messages. I deleted
a few and the unread message counter indexes to the correct message count.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Have you tried 'purge deleted messages'? (its in the contextual menu when
you right-click/control-click on an IMAP folder).

Depending on your delete model settings, deleted messages may be just hidden
from view.

You might also want to select "Repair Message List" from the contextual
menu, or press Option-Command-L to do the same thing.
