I have standard "Messages" view as current view (i've reset this to default
settings to be sure). My unread messages count in the Inbox is 4. I can see
2 unread messages when I scan the inbox. When I select Unread Messages as
my view, all 4 messages show, yet when I check back in the Inbox under
Messages view, two of those unread emails are nowhere to be seen.
Points to note: .pst file brought over from Outlook 2003 4 days ago, when I
activated 2007 on a new computer (Windows XP SP2). The "hidden" unread
messages are both messages received directly into 2007 (not brought over from
2003).
Some new mail is visible as unread mail in the Inbox under the Messages
view, however I marked 10 unread messages as read from the Unread Messages
view - these were not visible as Unread in the normal view, but are now
visible as Read mail in the Inbox. There are no filters on the Messages view
- I've double checked that.
Obviously I can work around this by setting the Unread Mail as my default
view or using the Unread Mail search folder - but a little frustrating!
Any help or advice would be most appreciated! Thank you.
