The unread message folder is empty but I have unread messages in the inbox.
The two used to be the same inbox 10 messages....unread folder 10 messages.
Now the inbox says 10 messages but the unread folder says empty.

Outlook does not create a unread messages folder. If you have the folder you
must have created it and then maybe you created a rule to copy email into the
folder. If that is the case, then maybe your rule is no longer working.
