unrecognized database format

Just upgraded my Windows to XP Home and had a previous
version of Access 2000. Now I am not able to open a
database I had created prior to the upgrade. I receive
the "unrecognized database format" error and the database
extension is *.mdb

I have tried all of the options under the Tools menu
including convert, repair and make an mde but nothing has
worked. I can create a new database without any
problem. Is there any way to salvage the original
database?

If you are still using the original version of access
should not have any problems, but since you do....i would
try importing the original database into a new database
using access with the xp windows system.
