Unrecognized Database format???

I have an employee here who receives a disk from a bank. On the disk are
various reports and a viewer to view the reports. The same report comes in a
variety of file formats. One being .MDB. I want to open this .MDB file
using Access 2003 so I can sort the report by columns, rows, etc. When I try
to open the file I recieve the following message.

Unrecognized database format (and then the path of the file)

Any suggestions? Is there a plug-in I could add to open this file. Im not
sure what version of Access this file was created in either. How can I open
this file? Thanks for all the help!

A2003 should open just about any version MDB back to 95, but only if it is
an MDB and not an MDE. I think for MDEs it would have to be in version 2000
or higher. I realize that you said MDB, but a file can actually be an MDE
and still be named with the MDB extension.

Otherwise it is certainly possible that it is REALLY old (Access 2 or 1) or
that the file is corrupted.
