Unrecognized Distribution List

I created four distribution lists with over 100 people in each. I manually
entered in everyone's name and email address.

When I go to send a new message to the people in the distribution list a
screen pops up tellin me "Microsoft Outlook does not recognize distribution
list X." It also does not give me any suggestions.

I am assuming the email addresses attached to the Distribution List are not
being recognized. How can I fix this?
