Hi Buzz,
Are you looking at the [Unique ID] or the [ID] field? The [Unique
ID]
field will act as you note, each task gets a unique ID when create
and
if the task is deleted, that Unique ID is not re-used.
I would check your table definition: View > Tables > More Tables.
Select the table and click Edit. The field name should be ID not
Unique
ID. The ID field will not match the Unique ID field in the
circumstance
where you have added additional tasks as you note.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,
Sorry their are no filters and I'm not using the outline levels.
Whats happened is i have a plan 100 odd lines long, and when i have
come
back and later ammended the plan and added an extra task (Task2
below)
the
the Task numbers have not resequenced.
Task ID Task Description
11 Task 1
113 Task 2
12 Task3
I was wondering whether thier some option switch I may have
inadvently
toggled. as I can not see one that would cause this behaviour, or
maybe it is
just one of those many Microsoft Software "FEATURES" and my plan
has
been
corrupted.

Hi Buzz,
Is the project sorted? Try Project > Sort > Sort By ID.
Do you have a filter applied? Press F3 to remove all filters.
Are you only showing tasks at a certain outline level? Click the
Show
button on the formatting toolbar and choose All Subtasks.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I have a Plan, where I have introudced non-sequential "Task IDs"
and
I
don't
know how I did it! I have looked at the "Unique ID" and the IDs
don't
match
so I have not turned this on by accident. Is there anything else
I
could have
done which would caused this behaviour in Project.
Any assistance greatfully recieved. Thank You
