Unsafe access to Access 2003 Data Base from MSWord mail merge

I have a user level protected Access 2003 data base, however when I access it
from MSWord mail merge it doesn't ask for an user and password login, it
simply let me see and recover information from db views and tables. ¿I don´t
know what is the problem with my database security? ¿Can someone help me
please?
