Unseen Outlook Contact Information

I am trying to enter a contact in Outlook '07.
When I enter the email address, it finds ANOTHER contact with the same email.
When I search for THIS contact, nothing is found.

I have tried searching using the "Search" files option; searching for the
name, as well as the email address in other folders; searching email2, email3.
Nothing seems to contain this information and yet, when I enter the email
into the new contact form, it completes the address, shows the information
(name and email address) and when I tab to the display name field, promptly
deletes the email information it just entered.

Does anyone have any idea where this information may be lurking so that I
can delete and re-enter? Please advise at your earliest. I appreciate all
postings.

Probably in your autocompletion cache, which Outlook will use to help you
enter data if you've used it before. Next time it appears, highlight it
using your arrow key then hit the delete button.

Thank You. That also highlights another thing I did not know. So, even though
a contact has been deleted, their information is kept in the cache - just in
case. Is there a way to see and edit the cache? Only asking as your
suggestion of highlighting and deleting did work ... thanks again!

The method I gave you is the only way to edit the cache unless you want to
get third party software:
