I am using the Project Server to collect actuals against projects using
managed time periods. I would like to be able to have resource managers
provide an approval of their direct reports timesheets before closing the
time period. Resource Managers have been given rights to approval timesheets
and receiving notifications on their home page when a resource does not
submit a timesheet.
What I have been experiencing is that the notifications are not consistent.
A resource manager may not receive a notification for a new direct report
until that resource has submitted their first timesheet. I have also noticed
that sometimes a timesheet will show up as unsubmitted even though the
resource has submitted time for that period.
Does any one know what the logic for the notications? I would assume that a
Resource Manager would be notified for the status of direct reports
timesheets. I would also assume that a timesheet would change status once
time has been entered and submitted for that time period.
