unsuccessful searches

I just bought a new PC. I installed Outlook 2007 and then later installed Windows Desktop Search which integrates with Outlook 2007 as the "Instant Search" feature. However, the Instant Search feature in Outlook 2007 returns incomplete results or no results. I did not have this problem on my old computer. What can I do to fix this behavior?

What does it show in Outlook under Tools | Instant Search | Indexing Status?

It says "Outlook is currently indexing your items". But it's been saying that since yesterday. Does it take that long, or could the indexing process be stuck? Does indexing continue even when the Outlook application is not running? :(

I am having a similar problem in that Outlook will not produce any results
for my searches past 1-9-08. I keep getting back that indexing is not
complete. It's like it is stuck!!
