Unusual Error

I'm getting the following error when I start MS Word:

"Unknown error returned from application. Error caught at
[file Connect.cpp, Line 254], operation canceled.
Contact technical support if this error persists"

I'm a little suspicious of this error since 1) "canceled"
is spelled incorrectly and 2) the period at the end of
the last sentence is missing. Since it's such a generic
error (not sure if it's an official Word error - no
logo), I'm wondering if something has corrupted Word on
my computer. Has anyone seen or heard of anything like
this? I've googled this problem to no avail. I tried to
file search for the connect.cpp to no avail. I've even
tried repairing, reinstalling, updating Office to no
avail. If anyone could help me out, I'd be greatly
appreciative.

"Canceled" is correct US spelling. In any case, don't be suspicious of error
messages because they are ungrammatical; MS is notorious for this.
