Mitchell Weinstock
Running on OS 9.2.2 and Entourage 9.0.2 (4011)
Recently, and without warning there has been the random appearance of
messages that appear completely scrambled when opened to be viewed. The
subject line is fine, and this seems to have been occurring with mail that
has both been never opened, and previously read.
I first discovered this when searching for an old eMail thread, and then
finding eMail that I previously read and replied to completely unviewable. I
also noticed that if I had previously replied to the eMail, I can retrieve
the reply and any original contents. Sometimes these may be scrambled too.
It's a bit insidious, since you can't tell the problem exists, unless you
open each email to inspect. I thought this was only one or two items, but I
am now into the dozens.
Yes, I have run the virus checkers and Norton. Nothing there. I am not
running any encryption, (but it sure looks like I am!)
Any thoughts on how to identify what is going on and stop it?
Thanks
Mitchell
