Unusual page numbering

S

Steve

I have a document having a peculiar numbering system.
The first 5 pages have no numbering, the next 3 pages
need a numbering of (nc-1, nc-2, nc-3), the next 31 pages
are numbered (sp-1, sp-2, ..., sp-31), 14 pages of (p-1,
p-2, ..., p-14), and finally 8 of (c-1, c-2, ..., c-8).
I have tried using sections breaks but the pages keep
renumbering themselves.

Steve,

Starting with out any section breaks.

Insert a section break next page after text on page five. Click the headers
and footers view and navigate to your new section 2 header and clear same as
previous/link to previous. Click the format page number icon and set Start
at 1. Do the same thing in the section to footer. Type in nc- and the use
the isert page number icon to insert the page number.

Repeat above for each additional section replacing nc- with whatever is
appropriate

Thanks for the help, worked very well.

Seem like there should be an easier way to do page
numbering, but guess we have to live with it.
