After running relatively peacefully for over 6 months since original
installation [ALL features] , suddenly today every time a user starts an
office application it wants to re-install [and asks for the CD etc].
Hitting cancel allows everything except OUTLOOK to proceed.
Logging off the user account and logging on as local administrator
demonstrates that OFFICE itself is intact and in that account even OUTLOOK
works fine and by connecting to the pst file of the user account and adding
an email account the user can continue operating.
So it is not a product activation or a not all features installed type
issue.
Yesterday first time Publisher ever used - I think that is co-incidence.
Has anyone found this problem to be due to operation of SPYWARE or other
worms ?
Be nice turn off the responsible flag without re-installing office which in
some cases kills the outlook accounts and in all cases requires security
updates run again etc.
