UNWANTED AUTO RESPONSE IN ENTOURAGE

I am using Entourage 11.3.6 and in the last few days I have noticed
that I keep getting messages from junk mailers to say my email to them
has been returned. I am not manually responding to junk mail which
goes straight into the Junk Mail folder so I don't understand why a
response would have been sent. I use BT Yahoo as my ISP and I have
checked my settings and there is no Auto Response switched on. Can
anyone throw any light on this for me?
Thanks

Please don't type in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. That is considered yelling
in news groups, and is rude.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your viewpoint ;), this has
nothing to do with Entourage specifically. Rather, an unknown party is
sending Spam emails out to others with your email address in a forged
From header, making it *appear* that the email is coming from you.
Since spam senders typically spam huge numbers of people, some of whom
don't exist. When that happens, the email server in question sends an
automated response to the email in the From header stating the email
recipient does not exist. This is why you are seeing these messages.
There's not much you can do about this - I usually just ignore such
messages and delete them.
