unwanted automatic horizontal line

E

Edward

When I input "---", "___" or "===" and hit enter
Word automatically draws some kind of a horizontal lin
rather than displaying my original data

What is this, and how can I get rid of this unwanted feature

Thanks

Edward

Edward,

The lines are paragraph borders and they are caused by the default
AutoCorrect As You Type settings in Word. To turn off use Tools>AutoCorrect
Options>AutoForamat As You Type>Apply as you type and uncheck border lines.
You can uncheck the rest of these annoying options while you are at it.

To delete the unwanted lines, use Format>Borders and Shading. Chose the
setting "None" on the Borders tab and click OK.
