Unwanted automatic increments

I have a table set up with 3 consecutive text fields that
I enter numbers in.

These numbers refer to a lot, block & section of a
township. If I enter a 1 in the lot field and a 2 in the
block field Access automatically enters a 3 in the section
field. I'ts smart too, If I enter a 3 then a 5 it enters
a 7.

Please help?!?

I'm running Windows 98 OS and Office 2000.

This is a vexing misfeature, introduced by someone at Microsoft who
was trying to be obnoxiously overhelpful. It is, of course, quite
inappropriate for relational tables!

There's no way to turn it off, to my knowledge, in table datasheets.
I'd suggest creating a continous Form based on your table, and do your
data entry there; forms don't suffer this annoyance.
