unwanted blocking

when I am typing the cursor will often jump back to a previous paragraph or
page; then text will be blocked and erased. Any suggestions?

Laptop? The most usual cause of such problems is an over-sensitive touch pad
or heavy handed typing activating the touch pad tap.
