Unwanted data point in a line chart

I am using Excel 2000. In plotting a line chart, an
unwanted data point appears on the chart - a data point
that was not entered in the Excel worksheet. This seems
to happen at the point where the vertical axis drops one
digit (dollar value changes from 10 million to 9 million)
but is not limited to that condition only.

I see that MS has a workaround for a similar problem when
charting from Access but I have not found a workaround for
Excel 2000.

Can anyone help?

You need to explain some more about what the problem is. I have no
clue what 'vertical axis drops one digit' means.

Also, can you give a reference to the solution/workaround for the
Access related charting issue?

In writing my response, I solved the problem which was
caused by my error. The charts are working fine. Thanks
for your trouble.
