unwanted folder

You are using VML graphics in your pages, or the pages are produced in
some office application other than FrontPage.
VML graphics are produced by using WordArt, ShapeArt, Text-Boxes and
other objects produced from the drawing toolbar in Office or
FrontPage. VML will only display correctly in Internet Explorer
running on Windows, other browsers will see nothing at all or poor
quality .gif representations. The .gifs are stored in the xyz_files
folder, which will never be visible within FrontPage.
The answer is to never use VML graphics.
Take a look at http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/VML-graphics.htm
which demonstrates some of the worst aspects of VML (set your browser
to a window at 800x600).
