UNWANTED FONT CHANGES

I am transcribing in Arial 12. I have Arial 12pt set as
my default font.

However, if I insert a document, run a macro, or certain
auto correct combinations I have created, they appear in
my document as New Times Roman 10pt.

What am I doing wrong - and what can be changed to make
everything open in Arial 12 pt.
