Unwanted lines

In producing long text documents I find sometimes that
unwanted lines (like under-lining) appear. When I try to
eliminate them, they jump down to the end of the next
paragraph and keep going further everytime I try to
remove them.
Help needed to get rid of these unwanted continuous lines
(like underlining)

I think what you have there is a border rather than an
underline.

1. Highlight the whole document.
2. Select Format
3. Select Borders and Shading
4. On the setting, select NONE
5. On the Apply to, select Paragraph
6. And then repeat steps 1-3, then this time, select Text
just to make sure that borders are not applied on any of
the Texts.
