Unwanted menus

For some reason, every time I open a doc file that I saved, two toolbars pop
up. They are "Exit Design Mode" and "Control Toolbar".

If I close those toolbars, save the file, close it, and reopen the file -
they pop-up again.

Hi, Tex.

On the Toolbar there is probably a small icon like a thick pencil over a
yellow line beside a small blue triangle. This is the Design Mode icon.
Click it when the file is showing should cancel the toolbar. Control Toolbar
I'm not sure of as I can't find any reference to it but thereis a Control
toolbax. This can be hidden by going to View//Toolbars.

You could try going to "Help" and entering these items. You should see the
icon I describe and you may get to find a way to sort the Control Toolbar
you mention.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Ed

Thanks Ed,

That toolbar just pops back up after I open any file no matter where or how
I close it.

Not a problem with Normal.Dot

Hi, Tex.

It's a mystery to me to. As no help seems to be forthcoming via the
Newsgroup I would try Microsoft Support. You get two free questions. They
helped me recently when three MVPs could not help.

I suggest you go here... http://support.microsoft.com/ and click on "Contact
Microsoft". I could put the whole address up but you have to select your
country. My answer came in less than twenty four hours.

Good luck and best wishes.
