Unwanted proret.msi prompt- how to remove or solve?

I have this problem where everytime I open Word or another Office XP
program, I get prompted to update Office with "proret.msi". Is it
possible to prevent this prompt from showing up?? I don't want to
update anything and I never chose to update Office.

This started recently when I updated Internet Explorer to show more
language characters specifically Chinese. I had to use my XP CD and it
was done successfully. However since then the above-mentioned problem
keeps happening when I open XP. Even worse is that when I start
Windows, I get that prompt as well. I'm assuming that when I updated
IE, something was affected in Word. Maybe changes were made. I don't
have the Office CD because it was preinstalled.

Please help if possible. Thanks.
