unwanted reminders

I am getting unwanted reminders when creating calendar items in
entourage 2008. I have done the following in Outlook:
- Entourage menu>Turn off Office Reminders
- Entourage menu>Preferences>Calendar>Unchecked default reminder of 15
minutes
- When creating the event, unchecked the reminder box

Yet, after all this, after creating the event, my Outlook client shows
the event as having a 15 minute reminder! This is within an Exchange
2003 environment.
Any ideas would be appreciated before I don't have any hair
anymore...;)
