Unwanted Shading of "page break" paragraph (Word 2000/WinXP)

W

Wally Asendorf

If a manual page-break is inserted into a document and the
first paragraph of the resulting page happens to be
shaded, then the paragraph containing the page-break (on
the previous page)annoyingly picks up the same shading
attribute.

This occurs in Word 2000 under Windows XP, ME, and 98.

The only work-around I've found is to use
Insert>Break>Section Break--Next page, but this is
cumbersome if you have to delete/modify sections.

Thanks in advance.

Instead of using a manual page break, format the following paragraph as
"Page break before."

Suzanne.......
Thanks for the help. Is this manual page-break feature
continued in Word releases beyond W2000?

Yes. A page break always has the same style/formatting as the following
paragraph.
