unwanted text on blank document

Everytime I open a blank document the word "now" is already written on
it. It can be erased to start a new document, but that's a real
headache when I'm trying to print multiple envelopes. This is a new
computer and Office was installed by the retailer, so the gentleman
who installed it must have put it there as some sort of preference.
Can anyone tell me how to permanently remove this unwanted text from
Word documents?

You need to open the Normal template and delete the text. All new
documents are based on the Normal template.
