up Grading from Office Home and Student 2007

P

pegleg1az

I need to have "Outlook 2007" to Sync my iPAQ with my computer. The "Office
Home and Student 2007" that I have installed in my computer at this time does
not have OUTLOOK on it. Can I use "Office Small Business 2007" as my up
grade?

The box says it will search and confirm upgade only if a licensed user of
one of the following except " student and teacher edition"

Is my "Office Home and Student 2007" The same as "Student and Teacher"? I
hope not!

Will this "Office Small Business 2007" WORK in the place of Office Home and
Student?

Office Home and Student (as long it is a licensed version and not a trial)
will be an upgrade qualifier for Office 2007 SBE.

See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101754511033.aspx for the
qualifying programs. You will see in the right column that any Office 2007
suite is a qualifier.

If you do use the SBE upgrade, make sure you keep the Home & Student CD or
downloaded installation file handy (tape the CD/DVD case to the SBE case)
because if you ever have to reinstall SBE you will again need the qualifying
program.

Also, if you do not totally uninstall the H & S version prior to installing
the SBE version you will probably be plagued by the "Non-Commercial use"
banner at the top of all the Office 2007 programs. If this doesn't bother
you (and it won't affect the operation of the programs) you don't need to
uninstall H & S first.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I guess I did forget to say that the
"Office Small Business 2007" Is the upgrade version. But I know that the
"Office Home and Student" DOES NOT have Outlook in it. I do have everything
else on the computer as "Word 07, Excel 07,Powerpoint 07. I also have
Publisher 03. I do not care about the "ONENOTE 07" But I do need "OUTLOOK
07"

the price sounded good to do a add on for OUTLOOK and upgrade my Publisher
at the same time...

Will it work or what will work for me?

JoAnn Paules said:
No, not the same. You can use the upgrade.

I read the link sent and as I read it:

"Office Home and Student 2007 $149.95/NA Upgrade not applicable."
I would read it as NOT upgradable. Am I right or wrong on this?

That means that there is no such thing as an upgrade version of Office Home
and Student.

I am sorry for being a pain in the back side. But one person said I can not
use the Office S/B 2007 upgrade and one person says I can....

Before I even think about opening the package I would like to know for sure
or not. I am split at this time.

Is the Office H/S the same as Student and Teacher edition or is it a
different package all together?

Is the Office Small business 2007 Upgrade usable as an upgrade with the
Office H/S 2007?

I know the Office H/S does not have Outlook, Will the Office S/B Upgrade
have a full version of Outlook to use or is it an upgrade for someone that
already has the older Outlook version?

I do not know is I can get any clearer that that. I am not that up on
software, so if I sound like a dumb a$$, I am with software..... I am just
double checking everything I do....

thank you for your time and patients.

*IF* you have a FULL version of Office Home and Student 2007 version, then
YES you can use the upgrade version of Office Small Business 2007.
*IF* you have a TRIAL version of Office Home and Student 207, then NO you
cannot use the upgrade version unless you have a different qualifying
product.

Office Student and Teacher was the old name for the non-commercial use
edition of Office XP and 2003. They revised the name for the 2007 version of
the non-commercial use edition of Office.

*IF* you have a full version of Office Home and Student 2007 version AND you
use the upgrade version of Office Small Business 2007, then YES, you WILL
have Outlook 2007.

Thank you JoAnn

I am just leary on software all the time..
I bought my Office H/S 2007 last year thinking I did not need the Outlook
because I use hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo for my emails compared to when I had
Cox and other internet services so I went with some Fool telling me that the
ONENOTE 2007 was the thing to have. I fell for it.... Dumb A$$ on my part.
Never used it do not plan on it. Now I need the OUTLOOK for my iPAQ I
bought for syncing with my computer. Just trying to get half way out of the
stone ages. I still have a short ways to go..

As long as the Office Small Business 2007 will give me the full version of
OUTLOOK I will be happy... I already have word, excel, P/Point and an out
dated Publisher that I love to use for all my advertising I do. I like the
PDF conv. it will be able to do now with the 2007 version...

I may need to by your dummy's book to learn more there also...

Thank you again....
