Upadting enterprise calendar for mulitple resources

J

JenniferW

I am updating resource information for my enterprise resource pool (PS2007)
in Pro using the import wizard. All the information is updated correctly
EXCEPT for the base calendar. As our resources are in 4 offices, there are 4
base calendars, but after the import these all stay as Standard.

Any ideas why or what I can do to fix this?

TIA

While you are connected to Project Server in Project Professional 2007, open
the MPP file containing your resources and then specify the Base Calendar
for each resource in the Resource Sheet view. The Base Calendar you select
will need to be one of your enterprise calendars. Save the MPP file and
then close it. When you import the resources using the Import Resources
Wizard (you ARE using this Wizard, and not the Import Project Wizard,
right?), the Base Calendar value will persist. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale

I was trying to find a way to do this without having to manually change the
resource sheet as I have a large number of resources.

My issue is that the import wizard preview shows that the calendar updates
are mapped properly and will update, but then the changes don't come through
- and as for which wizard I am using ... it's the one you get when doing
File>Open>xxx.xls and the wizard appears. Is there another one?

Cheers

When importing, use the menu item Tools, then Enterprise Options, selecting
Import Project to Enterprise, and you can select Files of type: to be
(*.xls). Subsequently, after having the resources added without the right
calendar, you can bulk edit using Pro and the Enterprise Options selection of
Open Enterprise Resource Pool, selecting the resources you want, picking
their base calendars and then saving as a single batch.
