Update 1

I've managed to remove the Dragon button from my upper
toolbar. Just have the error message to deal with.

Try renaming the normal.dot template to normal.old and then re-start Word
and also check to see if there are any templates located in the Word\Startup
folder. If so, move them to another location.

It is better not to start a new thread. Fortunately, there's not much
newsgroup traffic at the moment so your two posts do appear next to one
another. When there is more traffic and they get separated, they may not
always get "connected" in the eyes of a reader and become sort of
meaningless.

Please respond to the Newsgroup for the benefit of others who may be

Hope this helps,

I went into the start-up, as you suggested, and found two
templates left over from my Dragon installation. I
removed them and everything has come back to normal.

Thanks Doug. There are many generous souls on the net
helping us neophytes out with our software problems. You
are one of them. Much appreciated.

Best wishes. Don.
