Update a Project

I'm importing from Primavera. I've set it up so the Primvavera Task Nbr is
plopped into Text1. Now I want to "reimport", but I'll have interproject ties
in the MSP project, so I can't just overwrite it. Is there a way to "update"
a project from another project using a Text field as the "key"?

Hi again Jim

Have you tried excel as a go between. I have used this before - using
Vlookup to cross reference the different files.

As always - make sure you have a backup when trying these things :)

Let me know if this helps or you need further info

I do it with an application I wrote in Visual Studio, not for Prima Vera
however.
So, yes, you can write applications (perhaps even in VBA within Project)
that will gather information from another application.

You may have better luck if you take Prima Vera output down to Excel and
then wakeup the Exceil file with VBA. You can tie to Prima Vera as an ODBC
Source and then attack it that way too (that probably means a visual studio
solution)
