Update a table linked via Excel

I have a table that I have linked to from Excel. The program has worked
great, but now does not allow me to update the table from Access. The
program just 'dings' as though it is locked some how. How do I change back
to have the ability to update the Excel table from Access?

That must be it. Unfortunate that this change/update was made. It loses the
entire functionality of why I created the database. Thank you for your
direction.
