Update actual daily work on behalf of resources

Mauro

In some of my organization projects, some resources don't have a PC. So I
would like the Unit Managers to update actual work for all the activities of
theyr unit, even though they are not assigned to that work. They only have
to manage that activity.

In Project Web Access the resource can only update the actual work for
activities they have been assigned to, so I can't find a solution!

Please help!

For those resources whose work must be updated by a Unit Manager, set their
user account authentication in PWA to Project Server authentication. This
way the Unit Manager will be able to log into PWA to enter actuals on behalf
of the resource. The limitation of this approach is that the resource's
user account will not be able to access Risks, Issues, or Documents, as that
functionality is limited to those whose user accounts are set to Windows
User Account authentication. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale.

Is there a way to set a "resource supervisor", so that he will see in hi
activities even the activities of his resources for whom hi is the
supervisor?
It should be better than logging in multiple times to enter actual work
done...

You will need to address this issue the way I have proposed. You cannot
enter actuals for someone else without logging into that person's user
account in PWA. If there were an easier way, believe me, I would have told
you so. Hope this helps.

Dale - can't you enter actuals for a person using MS Project Professional itself instead of PWA

Thanks

Yes, you can do that, but that wasn't the original question from Mauro, who
has Unit Managers who need to enter the actuals on behalf of the team
members.
