Update actual hours in project server

Is there a stored proc or process to update the actual hours on a task by
updating the project server database directly or though a seperate
application? We have two time logging applications (project server and an
internal app) rather than doing dual time entry for one group, I would like
to automate the process.

Before you ask....we have to keep both timesheet processes...already tried
to get rid of one.
