Update % complete & change dates

Is there a way to update the percentage complete and have the date
adjust to the new project end date?

Example: i have some tasks that are not supposed to start until may,
but there has been some work done on them. is there an easy way to
update the % complete and have the date move in since the task should
now finish sooner.

Is there a macro or some button i can use?

Hello corky,

You should enter the revised start date in the Actual start date for
the task. Entering an actual start previous to the scheduled start
should update the finish date and move the task and successors back
in time.

Try Tools/Options/Schedule/Move end of completed parts after status date
back to status date. You may need to set the status date under
Project/Project Information.

You may also need to check that there are no links/constraints
artificially holding your task out in the future.
