Hi,
I tried to install this update. It failed.

In log file I have found the following:
MSI (s) (24:5C) [16:16:07:316]: Executing op:
AssemblyCopy(SourceName=IPATHPIA.DLL|Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.dll,SourceCabKey=IPATHPIA.DLL,DestName=Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.dll,Attributes=5120,FileSize=101064,PerTick=32768,,VerifyMedia=1,,,,,ComponentId={C1E59364-35F6-44B3-AF0F-FCA934C4B252},IsManifest=1,,,AssemblyMode=0,)
MSI (s) (24:5C) [16:16:11:707]: Product: Microsoft Office
Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 2902. An internal error
has occurred. (ixfAssemblyCopy )

I have tried to find IPATHPIA.DLL and cannot find it anywhere.

Does anyone had this problem?

Thanks.

I have this problem too with german version of Office 2003 and XP &
SP2.
Eventlog gives the hint to analyse installation log file. But that was
not really helpful; maybe there is a permission problem ?!?!?
Hope that MS gives support soon.

I'm having the same problem on two machines. I installed SP2 before
applying the update. I'm trying to look throught the LONG log file
that was generated. Perhaps it would work if this update were
installed prior to SP2, but even then what of the people that have
already deployed SP2? This failure causes MBSA to report the machine
as a severe risk, as not all updates are installed.....not cool.

Aslo having the same problem as you guys. I also applied this after SP2, but
I cannot see why SP2 would stop such an update for Office as SP2 is a patch
for XP and NOT Office suite.

Please find enclosed my comment which I looged earlier, prior to seeing
other people having the same problem so it might be worth clicking on the
notification that I logged under my full name of ROBERT COHEN on 9/17/2004.
Sorry guys for duplicating your question so I have click on the notification
tabe for this thread and maybe do the same for mine just incase I get some
possitve feedback which I will pass over to this thread of the solutionist
doesnt manage to provide the same feedback/solution to this thread,

Ummm, that isn't the case for me. I've checked all the versions according
to the web site and they are all the correct ones. Maybe others can check?

I can't be certain, but contrary to the conditions stated in the
article I thought I had installed KB870765 AFTER SP1 - nevertheless
the installation failed.Just to add more complication I believe that
KB870765 had been released before and then withdrawn due to
incompatibilities with the installer. Maybe some of us took it onboard
then and this has led to problems. I have also just upgraded to SP2
with lots of problems. I would run the repair anyway and see if it
fixes the issue. Another post here similarly links to events around
SP1.

I followed the advice - i.e. did a repair on my Office2003 SP1
install, even though all reported being patched to SP1 OK - then tried
to reapply the patch - and it worked for me.

Cheers

I had the same problem as described and did a repair as described.
It successfully installed. However, when I look at the version of
Outlfltr.dll installed on my machine, as recommended by MSFT, it is
the older version.
Can anyone explain this?
